'Dark earth tiger(Chilobrachys sp. "Kaeng Krachan") is a tarantula in the genus Chilobrachys. This tarantula, which occurs naturally in Thailand, is a wandering tarantula with strong vitality. It was named 'Krachan' in a discovery made in Kaeng Krachan National Park, Thailand's largest national park, in 2013. But it's called "Dark Earth Tiger" more than "Krachan."

It has a medium and large size like the "Earth tiger" type, but this is only for females. Males are known for being exceptionally small, measuring less than half of their females. Also, females have a very dark black color throughout their bodies, but males have a bright beige color all over their bodies. On the other hand, the juvenile is gray throughout the body, and as it approaches the adult, the color of the body darkens and eventually turns completely black.

It is not recommended for beginners because they are very fierce and aggressive. Thanks to the aggression-based eating, the growth rate is very fast, so it may be suitable for observation purposes. This tarantula container is always fancy because it's dark black all over the body, but it's quite spidery.

Because of the unusually small size of the male, it is often eaten immediately after matting. To prevent this, the keeper needs to be prepared to protect the male.
