'Mysore ornamental(Poecilotheia striata) is a large Arboreal type tarantula that is native to India.
It is usually found in deep forests, with elevations ranging from 500 m to 1000 m. It is rarely found except in a few areas where it usually lives. Poecilotheria striata is classified as vulnerable as habitat decreases due to indiscriminate environmental destruction. We need to protect this tarantula. It has been reported that there is a continuous decline in population and can be reclassified as a close threat species.
Poecilotheia striata, like other tarantulas in the genus Poecilotheia, has a unique pattern that is unique to India and is initially known to have originated in southern India. It's also incredibly fast growing from juvenile to adult, and the size of the adult is quite large. It is not recommended for novice breeders and is suitable for experienced breeders because it is very fast and often shows aggression. The Poecilotheia striata has strong venom, so avoid handling and avoid biting as much as possible. If bitten by this tarantula, it will leave a deep wound, feeling strong pain and dizziness.
The container used for breeding the Poecilotheria striata should be at least four times the size of a tarantula and should be accompanied by a number of cork bark and tree decorations or driftwood. In order to prevent them from escaping, the entrances will always have to be locked.
Juveniles have a stronger food response and tend to hunt frequently, but adults don't eat much food. You don't have to worry if the number of hunts for Poecilotheia striata decreases.
